In spring, the mother pig took the little pig LuLu to the foot of the mountain. They planted some watermelon.
When summer came, there were many big round watermelons in the field.
One day, the sun was burning like a fire, it was terribly hot on the ground. The mother pig said to the little pig:“Lulu, go to the field to pick a watermelon back,ok?” Lulu said happily:“Ok! No problem.”
Then he ran to the watermelon field. When he got to the field, he was happy to find so many big green watermelons. He chose one of the biggest watermelon and picked it from the vine. Then he held it with his hands trying to lift is on his shoulder to carry it home.
“Wow!Its so heavy!” Lulu tried several times, but he failed. And he was socked with sweat. He wiped his sweat off and decided to have a rest.
Suddenly he saw the monkey Pipi. He was playing with a hoop. Lulu patted his head and said:“Ive got it.” He thought, the round hoop can roll, the watermelon round too, then it can roll too.He then put the big melon on the ground and rolled it forward quickly.
At last he got home with the watermelon. The mother pig knew the story, she exclaimed:“My child, youre really clever!”
We shall be much obliged to you, said the impostors, and then they named the different colors and described the pattern of the pretended stuff. The old minister listened attentively to their words, in order that he might repeat them to the Emperor; and then the knaves asked for more silk and gold, saying that it was necessary to complete what they had begun.
However, they put all that was given them into their knapsacks; and continued to work with as much apparent diligence as before at their empty looms.
The Emperor now sent another officer of his court to see how the men were getting on, and to ascertain whether the cloth would soon be ready. It was just the same with this gentleman as with the minister; he surveyed the looms on all sides, but could see nothing at all but the empty frames.
Many years ago, there was an Emperor, who was so excessively fond of new clothes, that he spent all his money in dress. He did not trouble himself in the least about his soldiers; nor did he care to go either to the theatre or the chase, except for the opportunities then afforded him for displaying his new clothes.
He had a different suit for each hour of the day; and as of any other king or emperor, one is accustomed to say, “he is sitting in council,”it was always said of him, “The Emperor is sitting in his wardrobe.”
Time passed merrily in the large town which was his capital; strangers arrived every day at the court. One day, two rogues, calling themselves weavers, made their appearance. They gave out that they knew how to weave stuffs of the most beautiful colors and elaborate patterns, the clothes manufactured from which should have the wonderful property of remaining invisible to everyone who was unfit for the office he held, or who was extraordinarily simple in character.
Long ago in a small, faraway village, there was a place known as the House of 1000 Mirrors. A small, happy little dog learned of this place and decided to visit. When he arrived, he hounced happily up the stairs to the doorway of the house. He looked through the doorway with his ears lifted high and his tail wagging as fast as it could. To his great surprise, he found himself staring at 1000 other happy little dogs with their tails wagging just as fast as his. He smiled a great smile, and was answered with 1000 great smiles just as warm and firendly. As he left the House, he thought to himself, “This is a wonderful place. I will come back and visit it often.”
In this same village, another little dog, who was not quite as happy as the first one, decided to visit the house. He slowly climbed the stairs and hung his head low as he looked into the door. When he saw the 1000 unfriendly looking dogs staring back at him, he growled at them and was horrified to see 1000 little dogs growling back at him. As he left, he thought to himself, “That is a horrible place, and I will never go back there again.”
All the faces in the world are mirrors. What kind of reflections do you see in the faces of the people you meet?
Some say growing up in rich family promotes childrens personality and character. Some think otherwise. Whats your opinion? Why? Well, its quite a question argued by people all the time.
I think a persons personality has little relation to his family economic level. Its monly said that a child in rich family will has more chances and better choice for his study. However, if the kid himself isnt aware of this, that is all in vain. Its not unusual that many children from rich family are quite rude and conceited although they are always receive the best education.
Then, how about the poor familys children? There is another saying that adversity cultivates heroes. To be honest, I disagree with it too. Poor children should learn harder and catch every chance to strengthen themselves. However, the reality is often not like that. Subjectively speaking, poor children are easy to feel inferior and thus cant study well.
Even if they study well, they hardly do well in practicing ability. Objectively speaking, poor children can hardly receive good and plentiful education because of the economic limit. That will cause deficiency in some literal or artistic talent such as music or dance. Therefore, I think childrens personality have little relation to their family situation.

Now we are facing two problems of global warming and a shortage of natural resources, both of which are getting more and more serious day by day.
Thus, it is important for us to promote a low-carbon lifestyle. Low-carbon lifestyle covers many aspect of our life like transportation, traveling, home-heating, and so on. In order to promote a low-carbon life, some plans must be carried out as follows. Firstly, don’t waste any electricity and water. Remember to turn off the lights and water taps unless we use them.
Secondly, we had better take the subways or bus to work, so as to reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide. Thirdly, we should use cloth bags for shopping instead of plastic bags, and use recyclable bowls and chopsticks instead of disposable ones, for it can not only save
Life is a box of chocolateyou never know what you will get. Forrest Gump made no decision by and for himself but he plished great success with his strong will in the process.
The process is not the road itself but the attitudes and feelings the caution courage and persistance we have as we encounter new experience and unexpected obstacles. Take myself as an example I changed my major when I became a postgraduate. After the choicedays have been harsh for me.I cannot understand the new lessons at all. For they are closely related to mathmatics which I learned nothing about before. However wuth the belief that this is the great chance for me to experience new ideas and challenge myselfI persisted. I asked for help from every channel and reorgonized my life.
Gradually I could understand some parts and even found maths interesting. Moreover I learned to act instead of plaining. In retrospectthe choice left no trace in my mind but the happiness and bitterness of the past four months es an unforgetable experience in my life.
